Officially Changed

Avery "Paige", is no longer. We just received her birth certificate with her new name, Avery "Britt" Cushman. I have mixed feelings about this. I love love love the middle name, Paige (so don't judge me when I will probably use it for one of my other daughters...if we have another girl). But for quite some time it has been bugging me that her initials were APC, it just felt like it needed to be ABC. Then people kept asking me if Paige was a family name. Nope, no family pass down name, just love the name. Then one night, when I should have been sleeping, it popped into my head...hello, Ryan's first name is Britt, mine is obviously Brittany, why not pass that down to our 1st born child? and magically that would make her initials ABC. Yes, these are the kinds of things that I think about at night, alright?! We are excited that her middle name has a little more meaning now, but we both feel a little weird that for 9 months she had a different name. Actually, why should Ryan feel weird, remember the time that he was called Britt until he came home from his mission and now everyone calls him Ryan? Changing names must run on the Cushman family side!

I love this Brittany! I am proud of you for doing it. I can see my self obsessing over the same thing (in the middle of the night too), and I think it's great that you went through with it! No more anxiety :) I love the ABC thing!

I had no idea Ryan's first name was Britt! He went by that until after his mission? Why did he start going by his middle name? You didn't want to be "Britt and Brittany"? LOL Love her "new" name and initials. I have always liked family names--maybe because I don't have one.

Oh poor Jenn! LOL ask her what her sisters initials are…..good thing she married someone with the last name that doesn't start with an S :) That is what happens at our house when you want to use a "family" name! I will let Jenn explain LOL
