It turns out that my mom is German and all of her family still lives in Germany, which makes me part German! Every year the night before the 6th, we put our shoes out and get treats for Sankt Nikolous Tag. This was Avery's first year enjoying the German tradition. She got new sparkly shoes with a large box of yogurt covered raisins and 3 shiny bells. She was so excited to wake up and eat her favorite treat while shaking the bells!

Since you are my best friend and I am basically part of your family, I'm practically part German too. I think I should start celebrating this holiday... :)
